Trailblether - Trailbrakes Blog
Blether - verb - "talk long-windedly without making much sense".
Welcome to the Trailbrakes blog!
Happily, we're associated with a wealth of blethering bikers who are more than willing to share their knowledge, experiences and general biking chit-chat right here. The team will also endeavour to keep you up to speed on all the Trialbrakes comings and goings; trips, outings and fun and games that we get up to throughout the year. We'll also post any special discounts that we're running and the dates of trips that you can join if you want to hook up with some like-minded bikers for an unforgettable biking holiday.
If you've got a funny story, experience, review or any other bits of blether, just email them to us at info@trailbrakes.co.uk and we'll post them here for your fellow Trailbrakers to enjoy.
March 1st 2010Ah, the first Trailblether entry...no pressure then!
We've just returned home from a trip to the Lake District. Lucky us, I hear you cry. Well, you'd be right there. Three days of biking through beautiful, deserted, snow-capped countryside on bridleways (damn those laws!), over high passes and along stunning river valleys. Amazing! As anyone who's biked in this picturesque national park before will know, mountain biking for a full day in the Lake District inevitably involves some sort of hike-a-bike shenanigans! No exception last week, although following an escapade up High Street in the October fog, for which Pete blames Dave (controversial!), anything that we've biked since has been a pleasantly pushable experience!
So, for anyone looking to go for a biking adventure in the Lake District for the first time, take the plunge and push your bike 600 vertical metres to the top of High Street, because after that, every high pass and gnarley descent that you encounter will be a piece of cake! Alternatively, book yourself onto our Lake District Loop, taking in every corner of the national park and guaranteed to be at least 90% rideable!
